WOW!! What a month! Its been hot on the terrace, its been hot in the kitchen….. lets just say its been HOT!!!
Weather wise this is one of the hottest summers we can recall in over 10 years, with an unprecedented number of temperature warnings and of course the devastating fires affecting not only our island but also Greece, Turkey other Mediterranean countries. Clocking up our hottest May on record and average temperatures for June through August are rising year on year we are now looking forward to what we like to refer to as the golden months of mid to late September through October and these days even through November, where the temperatures are perfect for Al Fresco dining and eating out in Paphos.
As the traditional Cyprus local holiday month of August draws to a close we would like to thank every single one of you that visited us, and we feel privileged that you used some of your well deserved time off work to kick back and enjoy our hospitality.
We would also love to thank all of our staff, who have worked tirelessly in what have been some difficult conditions to maintain the standards of service we pride ourselves on delivering and doing it all with a smile on their face (honestly they are smiling behind the masks!).
It was a difficult decision we had to take to suspend our famous weekend brunch and general lunch services, but with a summer heatwave like no other, coupled with the conditions imposed by covid related decrees on restaurants, it was felt that the dinning experience was not a comfortable one for both customers and staff. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
We promised some exiting times ahead and these are now underway, you may have noticed a revamp to our website, which is being made ready as a foundation for one of our new developments. More news to come on that in the next few weeks.
We are also looking to expand our blog topics, to include things like Secrets from our kitchen, where our chef will give you some hints and tips, Staff profiles where you can learn a little more about all of us at the Lodge and we can share some of our favourite dishes and recommendations with you or you can experience a day in the life of a waiter, barman or chef. We will start features on other local business that we like to work with, promote or just recommend from our own personal experience. How to guides, like have you ever wondered how to make a perfect mojito. We want to involve you in discussions on food trends, events and promotions so tell us the kind of things you want to hear about.
